If you own a Mercedes in Egypt, you may be comparing buying a part in the Egyptian market with importing it from the UAE. In this article, "Dubai" and "the UAE" mean the same option: importing from our branches in the UAE. This article explains, in general terms, what differs between the two, so you can decide on a clear basis. We have no branch or warehouse in Egypt; we ship to you from our branches in the UAE.
Genuine new, genuine used, or a copy?
With either option, ask the seller one question before anything else: is the part genuine new, genuine used (musta'mal asli, "isti'mal al-kharig"), or a copy? A genuine used part is an original Mercedes part that was previously fitted to a car; it is not a copy. We sell genuine Mercedes-Benz and AMG parts, new and used; every quote states whether the part is new or used, and you can ask for photos of the exact part before you order.
Checking by chassis number (VIN)
When you buy from a nearby shop, you can see the part yourself and compare it with the old one. When you import, the match depends on the chassis number and the part number. You find the chassis number on the car body or in its papers; on the car it is usually at the base of the windscreen on the driver's side, and the location differs by model. The VIN shows the car's model and factory equipment. The same part can differ between models and production years, so we match the part number with the VIN before you order. Shipping and customs in general
Buying in the Egyptian market needs no international shipping. When you import from the UAE, we agree the shipping method with you for each order. We prepare the invoice and the shipping documents in the UAE; customs procedures and duties in Egypt follow Egyptian rules. To check them, see the Egyptian Customs Authority or ask your shipping company. Some items, such as batteries or airbags, may have shipping restrictions; we advise on each order.
